Ingredients:

FOR THE CAKE:
200 g common wheat flour
150g ground walnuts
230g sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
40 g pure cocoa
3 eggs
400ml milk
150ml sunflower oil
80ml water
1 teaspoon vanilla
FOR THE CHOCOLATE GANACHE:
500 ml cream
250g milk chocolate
150g ground walnuts
FOR DECORATION:
11 whole walnuts

Preparation of the cake:
First we are going to make the chocolate cake that is very easy to prepare. So we start by putting all the dry ingredients in a large bowl: 200g flour (loose, regular, all-purpose flour), 230g sugar, 150g ground walnuts, 1 tsp baking soda plus 1 tsp of baking powder (Royal-type chemical yeast), 1 pinch of salt and 40 g of pure cocoa.
We stir well with a rod.
Then we add all the other ingredients; 150 ml oil, 3 eggs at room temperature, and 400 ml milk at room temperature and 80 ml hot water. All the ingredients are at room temperature, except the water, which has to be hot.
We mix very well with the manual rod and you will see that the ingredients are incorporated very well immediately.
When there are no lumps left, pour the mixture into a 24 cm diameter mold whose base we have lined with parchment paper.
We take the mold to the preheated oven and bake at 175ºC (350ºF) for 35 – 40 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean.
The chocolate and walnut cake is ready, so we leave it to cool completely.
