Easy Italian Sausage Tomato Pasta

8 ounces uncooked pasta
16 ounces Italian sausage
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 (14 ounce) can tomato sauce
3/4 cup heavy/whipping cream
1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper, to taste
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese (optional), to taste

Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the pasta al dente according to the package instructions.
In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the Italian sausage and cook for 7-10 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon, until nicely browned. Make sure the skillet is free of any extra fat.
Reduce the heat to medium and stir in the minced garlic, sautéing for about a minute.
To the pan, add the heavy cream, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and Italian seasoning.. Stir until the sauce is smooth. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes or until it reaches your desired thickness.
Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with extra salt and pepper if needed.
If the sauce is too tangy, you can add a pinch of sugar.
After cooking, drain the pasta and add it to the skillet. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of hot pasta water to the skillet before draining.
Serve the pasta immediately, optionally topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
Enjoy this delicious and creamy Italian sausage tomato pasta as a satisfying and easy meal option.
